The past is a Mirror that reflects the inner light that guides our actions and our thoughts, that teaches us the nature of ourselves, and reveals to us the wandering path we have traveled and will travel still.
The Mirror doth reflect the light
That shines so brightly in our soul
The light that tells us right makes might
And beauty is a new-born foal
Still wobbly in the rising sun
The grass still soaked with morning dew
His mom a handsome coyote dun
Who dearly loves her freedom too
The Mirror tells us of the times
Of distant peoples, distant trials
Of different cultures, different climes
Of childhood sorrows, childhood smiles
The Mirror tells us of the past
And what we owe to long gone men
Who made a country that would last
Until the ice sheets flow again
The Mirror doth remind and teach
That in each brilliant night-time star
Resides a force within our reach
That tells us who we were and are
